ATLANTA (October 10) – LAWFUEL – Law News Network – Kilpatrick Stockton announced today that Partner Dr. John McDonald will be a featured speaker at the Society for Neuroscience Seminar, “Careers for Neuroscientists,” which will be held Monday, October 16, from 9-noon, in the Georgia World Congress Center. The seminar will be devoted to a discussion of nonacademic careers and the spectrum of challenges and opportunities that accompany career paths outside academia.
The seminar will also address training and skills required for new and established researchers to create successful nonacademic careers, and the unique benefits and pressures of working outside the academic setting. Dr. McDonald’s presentation will address his transition from a Neuroscientist and Full Professor at Emory University Medical School to a career as an Intellectual Property attorney.
Dr. McDonald is a partner in the Intellectual Property Practice Group and concentrates on domestic and international intellectual property strategy for clients, due diligence projects and focuses on biotechnical, pharmaceutical and chemical patent prosecution. He co-chairs the firm’s Health and Life Sciences Group.
