CHICAGO – September 24, 2007 – LAWFUEL – The Law Firm Newswire – Holland & Knight LLP announced today that Jeffrey Kuta has joined the firm’s Chicago office as a partner, further expanding the firm’s highly regarded national Syndication Group. Previously he was a partner with Schiff Hardin LLP.
Kuta focuses his law practice on affordable housing and community investment and development. He represents national and local syndicators that raise bank and corporate equity investments for low and moderate-income community revitalization projects, using federal and state tax credits and other financing incentives. Projects range from affordable rental and for-sale housing to business, education and health care development and include historic rehabilitation.
A pioneer in some of the country’s earliest tax credit programs, Kuta works with syndicators, investors and lender clients in creative strategies nationwide. He also represents real estate developers and lenders in new construction and rehabilitation projects and in workouts and restructurings of troubled projects.
Kuta attended Chicago parochial and public schools and is an honors graduate of the college and law school at the University of Chicago, where he majored in sociology and worked at its Center for Urban Studies. He is a co-founder and former chair of the American Bar Association’s Forum on Affordable Housing and Community Development Law.
