Pinsent Masons has picked an insider with a significant growth record to take the top job, electing Richard Griffiths as its new Managing Partner from 1 November.
Griffiths currently heads the multinational firm’s Property Group, which has grown 13 per cent over the past two years. Before that, he ran the Planning & Environment Practice, overseeing its expansion into Australia, the Middle East and Europe and delivering 53 per cent growth during his four years in charge.
He succeeds Laura Cameron and will work alongside Senior Partner-elect John Maciver as Pinsent Masons looks to push further into international markets and deepen its sector-led strategy.
Griffiths joined the firm as a trainee, making his elevation something of a home-grown success story in an industry increasingly fond of solving leadership and growth problems with expensive lateral hires.
