Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP announced today that Peter Alexiadis has joined the firm as a partner to assist in the launch of the Firm’s Brussels office and in the development of a pan-European competition law practice along with Munich’s Michael Walther. Alexiadis practiced formerly with Squire, Sanders & Dempsey LLP in Brussels. With the opening of Brussels, Gibson Dunn will now have four offices in Western Europe, having been in Paris since 1967, London since 1979 and Munich since January 2002.
“Although Brussels has been on our agenda for a time, we proceeded in a deliberate manner in order to ensure that we found the perfect fit for us in Europe,” said Peter Sullivan, head of the search committee for the Brussels office.
Peter Alexiadis’ practice focuses on international competition rules, intellectual property law and EU communications policy matters. He counsels government institutions in the European Union, Eastern Europe and the Asia-Pacific region on these legal matters. He regularly files notifications with the European Commission’s competition authorities and handles similar notifications and related representations before regulatory authorities throughout Europe.
The Firm has a well-developed game plan for expansion in Brussels which dovetails with the expectations of their international client base and the Firm’s plan for growth in key Western European commercial centers.”
