The Century City office of Pillsbury Winthrop LLP has moved to the new 35-story MGM Tower building, located in the heart of the Westside’s business and entertainment district at Constellation Boulevard and Century Park West.
At its new site, Pillsbury Winthrop will occupy the entire 21st floor in an area which encompasses 21,669 square feet, with an option to expand. The space will accommodate 36 attorneys who focus on real estate, financing, entertainment, business litigation and intellectual property matters.
Pillsbury Winthrop LLP, with 17 offices worldwide, including downtown Los Angeles, opened its Century City office in 2001. Lew Feldman and James Rishwain are the co-founding partners of the office and will continue to be responsible for its growth and direction. Feldman heads the firm’s Public Finance practice, and is nationally recognized for his high-level capital markets work for both public and privately held clients, such as The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, Lennar Home Corporation, William Lyon Home Corporation, Avalon Bay Communities, FountainGlen Properties, Boeing Realty Corporation, Lehman Brothers, Goldman Sachs and KB Home Corporation. Rishwain chairs the firm’s real estate group and brings extensive experience in real estate acquisitions and financing, including serving as lead real estate counsel to the Los Angeles Unified School District on its ambitious project to build 85 new schools in the next few years.
The MGM Tower is the first major high-rise to be built in Los Angeles in a decade. Los Angeles architects Johnson Fain designed the $150 million glass tower, which opened its doors in April. Johnson Fain also designed Fox Plaza in Century City and Sun America Center, both located in the immediate vicinity of the MGM Tower.
The Century City office is also active in numerous pro bono causes, including the Los Angeles Unified School District’s Junior Judges Project, The United Way of Greater Los Angeles, the Urban Land Institute, the University of Southern California Lusk Center for Real Estate Development, City of Hope, USC’s Anderson School of Gerontology, and Public Counsel.
