WASHINGTON D.C. (December 6) — Kilpatrick Stockton LLP announced today that Antitrust Practice Chair Stan Gorinson was named by Legal Media Group to its prestigious 2004 Guide to the World’s Leading Competition and Antitrust Lawyers. The “Guide” is a leading international listing of preeminent practitioners in specific areas of law. Legal Media Group’s research department conducted a year-long, in-depth study of experts in the field of competition and antitrust law to determine who should be included in the Guide. In-house counsel and practitioners were asked to nominate the world’s most capable practitioners in the competition and antitrust arena.

This announcement comes just weeks after Kilpatrick Stockton partner Connie Robinson was named one of the world’s “Top 100 Women in Antitrust” by Global Competition Review.

“I am honored to work with a colleague recognized internationally for his competition and antitrust leadership,” said Bill Brewster, Kilpatrick Stockton’s Managing Partner. “With over three decades of extensive experience in the public and private sector, Stan’s significant knowledge and insight are valuable resources to the firm’s clients. That practice continues to expand as clients turn to Stan and the other members of the practice to reduce their antitrust risk or resolve difficult competition problems through the litigation process and otherwise.”Mr. Gorinson, a partner in Kilpatrick Stockton’s Washington DC office, heads the firm’s domestic and international antitrust practice. The practice includes domestic and international mergers and joint ventures, both private and government civil litigation, criminal litigation, and antitrust counseling. Mr. Gorinson began his career in the Antitrust Division of the US Department of Justice serving in many positions, including chief of the Special Regulated Industries Section, Chief of the task force that reviewed the US and European Union antitrust cases against IBM, as well as prosecuting civil and criminal antitrust cases. He also served as Chief Counsel to the President’s Commission on the Accident at Three Mile Island, which investigated the US’s largest civilian nuclear incident.

Mr. Gorinson is a sought-after writer and speaker on antitrust and other legal issues. In the past year he has written articles for the National Law Journal, Legal Times, IP Today, and European Lawyer and has been quoted in leading national and international publications such as the Wall Street Journal and Global Competition Review. He is a 1973 honors graduate of Rutgers University School of Law. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from Brooklyn College in 1967.
