The winning deals are:
AKA M5 Motorway (Europe, Middle East and Africa Infrastructure Deal of the Year, Project Finance International and European Transport Refinancing Deal of the Year, Project Finance Magazine). White & Case represented the lead banks in the €750 million project financing of the M5 Phase 2 motorway project in Hungary. Lead partner: Doug Peel, London.
Autopista del Maipo Refinancing (Latin America Refinancing Deal of the Year, Project Finance Magazine) White & Case represented the concessionaire Autopista del Maipo Sociedad Concesionaira S.A., the concessionaire in an refinancing of Rule 144A bond financing of a 265.5 kilometer toll road from Santiago, Chile to Talca, Chile. The initial project financing for this project–on which White & Case advised–was named 2001 Latin American Transport Deal of the Year by Project Finance Magazine. Autopista de Neuvo Leon (Americas Infrastructure Deal of the Year, Project Finance International) White & Case acted as Mexican counsel to MBIA Insurance Corporation in connection with a $200 million securitization of the collection rights of the Monterrey – Cadereyta Toll Road in the northern state of Nuevo Leon in Mexico. Lead partner: Juan Manuel González, Mexico City.
El Cajón Power Facility (Latin American Deal of the Year, Project Finance International and Latin America Renewables Deal of the Year, Project Finance Magazine) White & Case advised Constructora Internacional de Infraestructura, S.A. de C.V. in the $683 million financing of the two-unit 750 MW El Cajón hydroelectric generating facility in the state of Nayarit, Mexico. Guangdong Dapeng LNG Project (Asia Pacific Oil & Gas Deal of the Year, Project Finance International and Project Finance Magazine). White & Case advised the five Chinese banks in the $880 million Guangdong LNG project, the first LNG facility to be built in China. Lead partner: Daniel Chung, Singapore.
Qatargas II Project (Europe, Middle East and Africa Gas Deal of the Year, Project Finance International and Middle East Gas Deal of the Year, Project Finance Magazine). White & Case represented project sponsors Qatar Petroleum and ExxonMobil Qatargas Inc. in connection with the record-breaking $11.2 billion Qatargas II project financing, the largest project energy financing to date. PT Trans-Pacific Petrochemical Indotama (Asia Pacific Petrochemicals Deal of the Year, Project Finance Magazine). White & Case represented Pertamina, the Indonesian state-owned oil company, in this $400 million structured financing to complete construction of the Tuban petrochemical refinery in Java, Indonesia.
