Tokyo – 1 September – LAWFUEL – The Law News Network – Global law firm Clifford Chance has announced that Kenji Kawahigashi has joined the firm’s Tokyo office* as a partner with the Capital Markets practice, effective 1 September.

Mr Kawahigashi is an international finance and corporate lawyer who specialises in financial markets and securities regulation, as well as the asset management industry. He is qualified in both Japan and New York. His focus will be on building a regulatory practice for Clifford Chance’s financial institution clients and on covering the regulatory aspects of transactional work ranging from capital markets, public M&A, finance and funds.

Mr Kawahigashi joins Clifford Chance from Asahi Koma Law Offices, where he was a partner. He has practised mostly in Japan, with Anderson Mori, but has also had a spell working abroad for the Los Angeles office of a US-based firm, as well as spending time with the Japanese Financial Services Agency.
