Addleshaw Goddard Maintains Strong Growth Streak with Double-Digit Revenue Jump

Addleshaw Profit Figures Continue Strong Run For UK Law Firm Revenues

UK law firm Addleshaw Goddard just wrapped up its eighth consecutive year of growth, posting impressive 11% revenue growth to £550.9 million for the financial year ending April 30. While that’s solid performance, it’s worth noting the growth pace has cooled slightly from previous years – they hit 12 percent in 2024 and 18 percent in 2023.

The firm’s profits climbed 6 percent to £224.1 million, delivering £1 million profit per equity partner, continuing the attractive PEP figures for UK biglaw partners that we have reported recently.

Managing partner Andrew Johnston credited the results to strong performance across key markets and expansion moves, including new offices in Madrid and a full year operating in Riyadh.

Addleshaw’s been busy on the expansion front, adding 59 new partners (bringing the total to 444) and growing headcount 6% to nearly 3,000 people. They’ve also been geographically aggressive, absorbing Linklaters’ Warsaw office, opening in Abu Dhabi, and planning new London headquarters for their 250th anniversary.

The firm landed some marquee deals, including advising Nationwide on its £2.9 billion Virgin Money acquisition and Guardian Media Group’s Observer sale. They’re also embracing legal AI, adopting the Legora platform for generative AI integration.

While growth outpaced rivals like Pinsent Masons and Simmons & Simmons, those firms still maintain higher overall revenue figures.
