NEW YORK – LAWFUEL – Law News, Law Jobs – Allen & Overy LLP announced today that leading international arbitration attorney Louis B. “Benno” Kimmelman has joined the firm’s Litigation Practice Group as a partner in the New York office.

Mr. Kimmelman, 55, comes to the firm from O’Melveny & Myers LLP, where he served as partner and Co-Chair of the firm’s International Arbitration Practice. Mr. Kimmelman has appeared before the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce, the American Arbitration Association, the Kuala Lumpur Regional Center for Arbitration, and other international and domestic arbitration bodies.

“Benno is held in high esteem by his peers and clients both in New York and internationally and we are elated to welcome him to Allen & Overy,” said Michael S. Feldberg, Co-Managing Partner and Head of Litigation for the firm’s U.S. practice. “He will add immeasurably to our arbitration capabilities in the U.S.”

“Allen & Overy has an excellent reputation in the marketplace as one of the go-to firms for international arbitration, and we are very happy to welcome Benno to the team,” said Judith Gill, a partner in the firm’s London office and a senior member of the Arbitration Practice. “We are excited about the opportunity that Benno’s move to Allen & Overy presents for us to extend our arbitration work in the Americas even further and to offer such a significant talent to our clients.”

Kimmelman holds a J.D. from Yale University and a B.A. (summa cum laude), also from Yale University.
