PHOENIX (LAWFUEL) – Albert William Harris, III, 49, of Gilbert, Ariz., was sentenced yesterday by U.S. District Judge Neil V. Wake to 12 months and one day in federal prison. Harris pleaded guilty to two Counts of Interstate Transportation of Stolen Property on October 14, 2008.
Harris was a warehouse employee of Verizon Wireless in Tempe, Ariz. who on August 18 and September 22, 2006, shipped 20 stolen Verizon circuit boards, worth at least $130,000, to a company in California. When the California company began to market the circuit boards, they were determined to have been stolen and the circuit boards were returned to Verizon. Harris was also ordered to make restitution to the California company.
The investigation in this case was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Tempe Police Department. The prosecution was handled by Thomas C. Simon, Assistant U.S. Attorney, District of Arizona, Phoenix.
