PHOENIX (LAWFUEL) – Bank robber Michael Alan Vidal, 42, of Glendale, Ariz., was sentenced to 151 months (12.5 years) in prison yesterday by U.S. District Judge Neil V. Wake. Vidal pleaded guilty in April 2008 to robbing an M&I Bank on North 19th Avenue in Phoenix on October 16, 2007. During the 2007 robbery, Vidal instructed the teller to give him money from the drawer. The teller gave him $2,266. Vidal was then tracked to a nearby apartment complex and apprehended by Phoenix Police officers shortly after the robbery.
The investigation in this case was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Phoenix Police Department. The prosecution was handled by Ann Birmingham Scheel and James Morse Jr., Assistant U.S. Attorneys, District of Arizona, Phoenix.
