PHOENIX (LAWFUEL) – Martin Walter Davis, 43, of Garden Grove, Calif., was sentenced here yesterday to 15 years in federal prison by U.S. District Judge James A. Teilborg.
Davis, a previously convicted felon, was apprehended in Phoenix in May 2007 while in possession of a Glock .40 caliber handgun. He pleaded guilty on January 22, 2008 to two counts being a felon in possession of a firearm and felon in possession of ammunition. He was previously convicted of three crimes of violence including a burglary and two armed robberies.
The investigation in this case was conducted by Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Phoenix Police Department. The prosecution was handled by Glenn McCormick, Assistant U.S. Attorney, District of Arizona, Phoenix.
