ATLANTA (March 22) — Kilpatrick Stockton announced today that Tom Steed has joined the firm’s Corporate Department. Mr. Steed joins the firm as Counsel in the Raleigh office.
His expertise will enhance the firm’s strong Investment Company/Investment Manager practice. He brings a wealth of experience in mutual and hedge fund administration, public and private offerings and compliance matters.
Mr. Steed has extensive knowledge of the Investment Company Act of 1940, the Securities Act of 1933, The Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and regulations of the National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc. Mr. Steed has assisted in the organization and startup of a number of registered mutual funds and non-registered hedge funds.
He joins Kilpatrick Stockton after five years with a mutual fund administrator, where he served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel. Prior to that he was with a large international fast food company, where he served as Vice President and Assistant General Counsel.
Mr. Steed received his J.D. from Campbell University School of Law and his B.A. in accounting from Duke University.
