Baker & McKenzie announced today that its Paris office has been strengthened with the arrival of a team of five real estate lawyers, headed by Olivier Mesmin. The team joins the Firm from EY Law.
Prior to joining Baker & McKenzie, Olivier Mesmin was a partner of EY Law where he headed the Real Estate Practice Group. He joined EY Law (formerly HSD Ernst & Young) in 1986. Mesmin, an international partner, joins the tax group of the Paris office with associates Christine Daric and Sybille Salmon-Legagneur and will lead the real estate tax practice. He graduated from Paris V University with a DESS in Applied Taxation and focuses his practice on tax consulting for French and international businesses in the real estate sector.
Marc Mariani also joins the Firm from EY Law where he headed the real estate section of the Mergers & Acquisitions team. Prior to joining EY Law in 1995, he practiced with the Moutafoff Law Firm for seven years where he focused on real estate and real estate investment funds. Mariani, a local partner, joins the corporate practice of the Paris office with associate Sophie de Fontenay and will work closely with the real estate group. He graduated from Paris I University with a DESS in Business Law and Taxation.
