Baker & McKenzie Take Chambers’ Global IP Firm of the Year Award

LawFuel.com –  IT Law News – Baker & McKenzie was recognized as “Global Law Firm of the Year for Intellectual Property” at the Chambers Global Awards 2013.

In identifying Baker & McKenzie as the best global Firm for IP, Chambers wrote, “This world-renowned firm has a phenomenal presence in the IP arena, with specialists stationed across North and Latin America, Europe and Asia-Pacific. Its superb capabilities attract a client roster of international luminaries, which seek the team’s advice on patent litigation, licensing, brand acquisitions and anti-counterfeiting. Highlights of the past year include successfully representing LVMH in connection with a parallel importation case which resulted in the payment of around USD5 million in damages.”The Firm also maintained its Tier 1 global ranking, which Chambers attributes to an “unshakeable global presence in the IP arena.”

“We are honored to receive this recognition,” said John Flaim, Chair of the Global Intellectual Property Practice Group. “In even the most challenging jurisdictions, our team of skilled practitioners around the world work tirelessly as trusted IP advisers to global market leaders. We are extremely appreciative that Chambers has distinguished Baker & McKenzie with this recognition amongst a group of such strong competitors.”

Chambers Global selects winners after looking at firms’ involvement in the highest profile and most cutting-edge deals and cases across the world. The final rankings are based on submissions sent in by the legal practices and interviews conducted with general counsel and clients — with greater weight given to the overall feedback of clients.
