BALTIMORE – April 26, 2005 – LAWFUEL – The Law News Network – Paul W. Kim joins Ober|Kaler’s Health Law department as Counsel in the firm’s Baltimore office. Representing health care providers, manufacturers, researchers, and payors, Mr. Kim advises clients in all aspects of health law from corporate compliance to reimbursement issues.

Before joining the firm, Mr. Kim, 34, worked in the Washington, DC office
of Blank Rome and Gardner Carton & Douglas. Before entering private practice, he worked as a Medicare Policy Analyst at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, US Department of Health & Human Services. He developed and drafted various Medicare payment regulations and policies. In particular, Mr. Kim codified the Medicare rule on “incident to” services.

He also worked as a Medicaid Policy Analyst for the Medical Care Policy Administration, Maryland Department of Health & Mental Hygiene. Mr. Kim obtained formal education and training in both foreign and US health care systems through the Johns Hopkins University where he holds a Master of Public Health.

With the addition of Mr. Kim, thirty attorneys practice in Ober|Kaler’s Health Law Department. It is among the largest health law practices in the nation.
A pioneer in the industry, the department is celebrating its 30th year in 2005.

Mr. Kim is a graduate of the Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health (MPH, 2000), University of Maryland School of Law (JD, 1998),
and Johns Hopkins University (BA, 1992).

He is an active member of the American Health Lawyers Association, American Bar Association, and Maryland State Bar Association, and a frequent writer and lecturer on health care issues.
