BALTIMORE June 1, 2005 – LAWFUEL – The Law News Network – Bolstering its core practices, Ober|Kaler expands its services with the addition of six attorneys. Since the beginning of the year, nine lawyers have joined the firm bringing the total number of attorneys practicing to 116. The six newest additions include:
Jay Bernstein, Principal — Construction
Joining the firm’s Baltimore Construction practice is principal Jay Bernstein, 47. A former Bond Claims Managing Director at St. Paul Travelers (1997 to 2005), Mr. Bernstein’s background will further enhance the firm’s capabilities as one of the largest and most prominent construction practices in the mid-Atlantic area. Mr. Bernstein is the co-founder and host of Shalom USA, a radio talk program. He attended the Talmudical Academy of Baltimore and graduated from New York’s Yeshiva University (BA, 1979), New York University (JD, 1982), and Baltimore Hebrew University (MA, 1994).
Eric Radz, Associate — Construction
In addition to Mr. Bernstein, associate Eric Radz joins the Baltimore Construction practice. Mr. Radz, 29, was most recently with the New York firm of Agovino & Asselta. Mr. Radz is a graduate of the University of Michigan (BA, 1998) and Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law (JD, 2001).

Sanjay M. Shirodkar, Principal — Securities
Principal Sanjay Shirodkar joins Ober|Kaler’s Baltimore office complementing the firm’s securities and general corporate practice. Mr. Shirodkar, formerly Securities Exchange Commission Special Counsel (1996 to 1999), represents business development companies and underwriters in public and private equity offerings, tender offers, and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Shirodkar worked in the Washington, DC office of Sutherland Asbill & Brennan (2003 to 2005), and DLA Piper Rudnick (1999 to 2003). He is a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park (BS, 1985) and the University of Maryland School of Law (JD, 1992). He is a certified public accountant.

Chiarra-May Stratton — Health Law
Expanding the firm’s Washington, DC health law practice is associate Chiarra-May Stratton. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Stratton practiced in the health care group of Reed Smith in Washington, DC, where she worked since 2002. A graduate of the St Louis University (BA, cum laude, 1997) and The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law (JD, 2003), Ms. Stratton is a masters of public health candidate at the University of Texas — Houston School of Public Health.
With the addition of Ms. Stratton, thirty attorneys practice in Ober|Kaler’s Health Law Department. It is among the largest health law practices in the nation. A pioneer in the industry, the Department is celebrating its 30th year in 2005.
Stacy Radz — Litigation
Associate Stacy Radz has joined the firm’s Baltimore Litigation Department. Before joining the firm, Ms. Radz worked in the New York office of Ropers, Majeski, Kohn & Bentley. She served as a summer associate at Piper Rudnick in New York in 2000. Ms. Radz interned with the Honorable J. Norris Byrnes, Circuit Court for Baltimore County in 1998. She holds degrees from Washington University (BA, with honor, 1998) and Fordham University School of Law (JD, 2001).
Grace Kraemer — Employee Benefits
Grace H. Kraemer joins Ober|Kaler’s Employee Benefits practice as an associate in the firm’s Baltimore office. Ms. Kraemer has worked in the benefits field in public and private practice, for eighteen years. Ober|Kaler clients will benefit from her wealth of experience in ERISA, HIPAA, corporate sponsored pension, health and welfare benefits planning. Most recently, Ms. Kraemer worked as a corporate attorney in Washington, DC at ULLICO, Inc (2001 to 2003). She graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park (BS, 1983) and the University of Baltimore School of Law (JD, 1997).
