BALTIMORE – June 24, 2005 – LAWFUEL – The Law News Network – Prominent Maryland intellectual property lawyer E. Scott Johnson has become a Fellow of the Maryland Bar Foundation, Inc. Recognized for his “outstanding dedication and contribution maintaining the honor and integrity of the legal profession,” Mr. Johnson was initiated at the Annual Meeting of Fellows held on June 16, 2005 in Ocean City.
A distinction offered by the Maryland State Bar Association, Fellow membership is extended only after nomination by a current Fellow and endorsement by the Board of Directors of the Maryland Bar Foundation. The distinction is limited to not more than 2.5 percent of MSBA membership.

Mr. Johnson enjoyed a successful career as a musician before turning to law almost 20 years ago. As chair of Ober|Kaler’s Intellectual Property practice, he counsels individuals, corporations and nonprofit organizations in matters involving licensing, trademark, copyright, technology, Internet and entertainment law.
Nationally recognized for his depth of experience and knowledge in the area of intellectual property law, Mr. Johnson has appeared in every issue of “The Best Lawyers in America” since 2003. Mr. Johnson is currently serving a three-year governor-appointment to the Maryland State Arts Council. He was recently re-elected to his third term as chair of the Mid-Atlantic Arts Foundation. He is past president and current board member of Maryland Lawyers for the Arts, an organization Mr. Johnson recently re-invigorated and serves on the board of directors of the Creative Alliance and the Washington Area Music Association. Mr. Johnson is a voting member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.
Mr. Johnson is a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center and the University of Maryland.
