Philadelphia (LAWFUEL) – February 26, 2009 – Barry M. Abelson, a partner with Pepper Hamilton LLP, has been named the “Philadelphia Best Lawyers Corporate Lawyer of the Year” for 2009 by The Best Lawyers in America, a referral guide of lawyers identified by their peers as being the best at what they do. Abelson is one of only three lawyers in different disciplines to be so honored in Philadelphia. His peers in Philadelphia and the other Best Lawyers listed in corporate law consistently rated him at the top of his field.
Abelson is a partner in the Commercial Department of Pepper Hamilton, concentrating his practice in securities, mergers and acquisitions, and private equity and venture capital transactions. He served as chairman of Pepper Hamilton’s Executive Committee, the firm’s governing body, from 1995 until 2007.
