1 June – LAWFUEL – The Law News Network – Linklaters’ private equity funds team has advised BC Partners on the establishment of BC European Capital VIII, the largest European buy-out fund to date, which raised over Euro 5.5 billion. The fund was raised in less than five months and was heavily oversubscribed.

Linklaters private equity funds partner, Jonathan de Lance-Holmes, comments:

“This fundraising is the latest in a series of BC Partners buy-out funds that Linklaters has acted on. The scale of investor demand and the speed at which this deal closed is testament to the continued growth of European private equity, and the quality of the BC Partners team and track record”.

The Linklaters team – based in London, Frankfurt and New York – was led by private equity funds partner Jonathan de Lance-Holmes and consultant Fiona Burrell and included Lisa Rodger, Michael Blackwell, Andrew Ford, Lara Saunders, Bill Hobbs, Alex Kreonidis, Stephen Land, Valerie Leipheimer, Matthew Welsh, Alex Vogt and Benedikt Weiser.

British MP George Galloway and his opponent the Daily Telegraph will leave no stone unturned to sort out what could be a spectacular libel case.
