11 May – LAWFUEL – The Law News Network – Leading international law firm, Holman Fenwick & Willan, is delighted to announce the election to partnership, with effect from 1 May 2005, of five new partners – Jim Cashman, Julian Clark, Craig Neame, Samantha Roberts and Nigel Wick, all based in our London office.
Three of the new Partners are members of our Shipping & Transport Group and have a wealth of industry as well as legal experience. Master Mariner Jim Cashman spent a total of 14 years at sea, including 5 years as Master before training as a solicitor. He specialises in all aspects of wet work including collision, salvage, wreck removal and pollution. Jim spent several years in the firm’s Hong Kong office.
Craig Neame focuses on both contentious and transactional work in the areas of logistics/outsourcing, IT, customs and multimodal transport. Craig has spent time at the Through Transport Club and at a major UK logistics business where he was responsible for the company’s consulting/outsourcing division and Group legal affairs.
Former barrister & professional musician Julian Clark joined the firm from Clifford Chance last year. Julian has worked internationally for Transport Counsellors International and the North of England P&I Association. He has particular expertise in P&I, FDD and Trade Disruption Insurance and has drafted the terms and conditions for P&I clubs/marine insurance facilities as well as advising P&I club Boards in relation to confidential matters.
Samantha Roberts specialises predominantly in corporate and commercial transactions particularly in the port development sector dealing with both greenfield and existing infrastructure projects worldwide providing assistance with concession agreements, joint venture arrangements, management agreements, terminal operating and user agreements and logistics contracts and arrangements. She spent three years in the firm’s Singapore office and is now a member of our Trade & Energy Group.
Nigel Wick becomes a Partner in the firm’s Insurance and Reinsurance Group and has wide experience of all aspects of insurance/reinsurance litigation and arbitration, including professional negligence (insurance brokers, accountants, construction professionals). He is currently involved in film finance litigation and personal accident reinsurance market arbitrations.
