23 December – LAWFUEL – The Law News Network – Former New York attorney and Harvard graduate Rob Simmelkjaer, who played a major role in helping ESPN establish strategic relationships with various sports leagues, has been named correspondent for ABC News Now
Prior to joining ABC News, Simmelkjaer worked at ESPN, Inc. as vice president, assistant to the president. In this position, he assisted George Bodenheimer, president of ESPN and ABC Sports, in key decision-making related to management and strategic direction, an ABC press release said.
The release said that in his new role, Simmelkjaer will anchor the channel’s live coverage and news briefs, in addition to hosting originally-produced shows including Inside the Newsroom, Guilt or Innocence, and The Mix. He started anchoring earlier this year.
