A global coalition of law firms representing victims of Bernard Madoff’s alleged Ponzi scheme will today meet to plot their case against the fund manager.

Three British firms among 34 that have joined forces to coordinate legal action against the disgraced investment manager, who is accused of perpetrating a $50 billion fraud.

The law firms, drawn from 21 countries in Europe, North America and South America, represent banks, hedge funds, public institutions and individuals that invested in funds linked to Mr Madoff.

The coalition will meet at the Park Avenue offices of McCarter & English, a Boston-based law firm that represents Harry Markopolos, the fraud investigator who famously raised suspicions over Mr Madoff to the SEC in 2005.
