BALTIMORE – February 24, 2005 – LAWFUEL – The Law News Network – Ober|Kaler continues in its hiring mode with the addition of associate Matthew W. Green, Jr. Since November, the firm has hired eight lawyers.
A 1992 Maryland alumnus and 2000 graduate from the University of Baltimore School of Law, Matthew returns to Ober|Kaler where he clerked during law school. With experience as a federal judicial law clerk and, more recently, in commercial and product liability litigation and intellectual property matters, Mr. Green will represent businesses and executives to resolve business and employment disputes in litigation, arbitration, and mediation. He will work in all aspects of commercial, corporate, and civil litigation.
Pamela J. White, chair of Ober|Kaler’s Employment & Labor group commented, “Matthew has solid litigation experience and brings great talent to our department’s practice in resolving business disputes. We are very much looking forward to working with him on his return to the firm.” Mr. Green will be working with Ms. White who served as 2001-2002 president of the Maryland State Bar Association and remains actively engaged in Bar and professionalism initiatives. Ms. White is a recipient of the distinguished Leadership in Law award, among other distinctions.
Mr. Green worked in the Baltimore office of Hogan & Hartson from 2002 until joining Ober|Kaler. He served as a law clerk to the Honorable Eric L. Clay in the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals in Detroit from 2001 to 2002 and the Honorable Deborah K. Chasanow in the United States District Court for the District of Maryland from 2000 to 2001.
While earning his J.D. (magna cum laude, 2000) from the University of Baltimore School of Law, Mr. Green served as Associate Managing Editor for the Law Review and was a member of the Black Law Students Association. He earned his B.A. (1992) from the University of Maryland at College Park, in Journalism and Spanish.
