BALTIMORE – June 14, 2006 Ober|Kaler announced today that David R. Forrer has joined the firm’s Baltimore office. An associate in the firm’s Estates & Trusts practice, Mr. Forrer will prepare estate and business succession plans, advise on charitable and business income tax planning, and litigate and appeal contested wills, trust disputes, and breach of fiduciary duty claims.

Mr. Forrer will work closely with Mary Baker Edwards, co-chair of Ober|Kaler’s Estates & Trusts practice. “Client objectives are paramount and David has the experience and skill to provide sophisticated advice,” Ms. Edwards said. “Our Fiduciary Litigation group is frequently called upon to help resolve disputes regarding trusts and estates. David’s considerable experience with these types of controversies further enhances the quality of service we offer clients.”

With fifteen attorneys dedicated to the practice, Ober|Kaler’s Estates & Trusts Group is one of the most extensive in the region.

Before joining the firm, Mr. Forrer worked at Semmes, Bowen and Semmes.

Mr. Forrer served as law clerk to the Honorable Raymond G. Thieme, Jr, Court of Special Appeals of Maryland from 1997 to 1998. He was a legislative assistant to U.S. Representative Harry A. Johnston, II from 1991 to 1994. He is a graduate of the Congressional Research Service’s Advanced Legislative Institute.

Receiving both his LL.M. (2003) and J.D. (cum laude, 1997) from Georgetown University Law Center, Mr. Forrer served as articles editor for the Georgetown Journal of Legal Ethics. He graduated from Princeton University with his A.B. in 1991.

Mr. Forrer is a frequent writer and lecturer on various trusts and estates issues. He is an active member of the Maryland and District of Columbia Bar Associations and the Anne Arundel County Bar Association.

Mr. Forrer resides in Annapolis.
