CASTLE ROCK, Colo., Sept. 20 – LAWFUEL – The Law News Network — Bradley J. Crandall, chairman of the board of Help-U-Sell Real Estate, announced the appointment of Stephen M. Rathkopf to the company’s board of directors.
A partner in the New York law firm of Herrick, Feinstein LLP since 1987,
Rathkopf brings an in-depth legal knowledge of real estate and restructuring
matters to his board position.
He has represented, and represents, many prominent real estate companies,
financial institutions, and individuals in a wide variety of significant real
estate matters, including the sale of the Empire State Building in 2002.
He has coauthored the weekly real estate column for the New York Law
Journal and lectured on real estate matters for the New York State Judiciary
system and the New York University Real Estate Institute.
During his tenure at Herrick, Rathkopf also served on the firm’s executive
committee and as chairman of the corporate department.
He has handled a wide range of sophisticated corporate matters, including
mergers and acquisitions, restructuring debt and equity, executive employment
and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. Additionally, he has rendered day-to-day advice
and strategic counseling as outside general counsel to companies.
Rathkopf left Herrick for a short period between 1999 and 2001 to serve as
Senior Vice President of Frontline Capital Group. While there, he helped the
company become one of the best-performing NASDAQ stocks in 1999, when it
increased its market cap to more than $1 billion.
He has also served as a director of HQ Global Workplaces, one of the
largest executive office suite companies in the United States, and on the
board of several other Frontline-affiliated companies.
Rathkopf joins Larry R. Polhill of American Pacific Financial Corporation
and Eric Kufel, past president and CEO of Poore Brothers, Inc on the Help-U-
Sell Real Estate board.
