Chicago, IL, February 28, 2005 – LAWFUEL – The Law News Network – Baker & McKenzie is pleased to announce that it was nominated Law Firm of the Year by Institutional Investor’s Inaugural Securitization News Awards. The nomination honors the work of the Firm’s global securitization team on some of the most innovative transactions in 2004, including its key role in the UCC Capital Corporation (UCC) – BCBG Max Azria Group intellectual property securitization transaction, which was also nominated for Deal of the Year. Award winners will be announced in New York City on Thursday, April 21, 2005.

Nominations for each category were based on feedback from leading industry professionals. Based upon their recommendations and the publication’s survey of rating agencies, bankers, financial firms and others in the field, the editorial staff will then review each nomination for a final determination of the winners.

Commenting on the nominations, Richard Rudder, Partner of Baker & McKenzie in New York, said, “The securitization team is very grateful to our many loyal clients. Without their support, we would not have been nominated. We believe they understand that our work on the BCBG transaction very much distinguishes us from all others. While it was a very complicated transaction, its primary value is that it constitutes an important step in the development of a whole new asset class in securitization and not just another deal in an established commodity market. This nomination fully recognizes our contributions to innovative thinking in the industry.”
