LAWFUEL – The Law Firm Newswire – Clyde & Co, a leading international law firm in the Middle East, has again been ranked first amongst recommended law firms in the United Arab Emirates, according to a survey conducted by the influential PLC Which Lawyer? online legal directory. This recognition is in addition to a number of credits received by Clyde & Co in the region, including prime position in the international legal directory ‘Legal 500’ for the last three years.
This year’s table lists 27 law firms practicing in the UAE and includes other prominent international law firms such as Clifford Chance and Allen & Overy, as well as a number of local firms, such as Al Tamimi & Co.
Clyde & Co is the only firm on the list with all areas of expertise ranked as ‘recommended’ or higher. The areas covered by the directory are ‘Telecoms/IT’, ‘Dispute Resolution’, ‘Corporate and M&A’, ‘Banking and Finance’, ‘Energy’ and ‘Intellectual Property’.
Niall O’Toole, a corporate partner in Clyde & Co’s Abu Dhabi office, described the recognition from Which Lawyer? as “encouraging, as it reflects our continued focus on providing a quality offering across all areas of business law and throughout the Middle East. We’re continuing to combine specialists with regional know how within our various practice groups – we are on schedule to have around another 40 lawyers to come on board this year – and realistically I think you’d be hard pushed to find any other firm with a better grasp of the region’s onshore and offshore environments.”
Practical Law Company’s (PLC) ‘Which Lawyer?’ is an online resource based on independent research. It identifies and ranks leading law firms practising in core areas of commercial law around the world. Which Lawyer? regularly updates its recommendation table based on research carried out on a rolling basis throughout the year among corporate counsel and private practitioners.
