(Dallas) – 25 August – LAWFUEL – The Law News Network – The healthcare law firm of Stewart & Stimmel L.L.P. is pleased to announce that partner Lisa Sooter has been appointed Vice-Chair of the American Bar Association’s Healthcare Facility Operations Interest Group.

As part of the ABA’s Health Law Section, the group focuses on and monitors the laws, regulations and policies governing the operations of hospitals and other healthcare facilities. The group advises the ABA about cutting edge legal issues that arise in the operation of healthcare facilities and assists in developing policy positions and providing comments and advice on regulations and proposed legislation.

“It is truly an honor to be asked to help lead this group,” says Ms. Sooter. “Healthcare facilities face rapidly changing legal and regulatory issues, so serving in a group whose focus is to monitor and understand these changes will greatly benefit my clients.”

Ms. Sooter’s law practice combines her experience in business transactions with expertise in the healthcare industry. She has represented health care providers in every aspect of their business operations, including merger and acquisition transactions, finance and securities matters, fraud and abuse issues, government and managed care reimbursement and other operational and regulatory issues unique to the healthcare industry.

Ms. Sooter received her B.B.A. with honors from the University of Texas in 1984, and her J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law in 1987. She is a member of the Business Law and Health Law Sections of the State Bar of Texas, the American Bar Association, the Dallas Bar Association and the American Health Lawyers Association.
