(Dallas) – LAWFUEL – First for law news – The healthcare law firm of Stewart & Stimmel L.L.P. is pleased to announce that Lisa Sooter has joined as a partner in the firm’s Dallas office.

Ms. Sooter’s practice combines her experience in business transactions with expertise in the healthcare industry. “Running a hospital or a health care practice, for that matter, is increasingly complex,” says Stewart & Stimmel co-founder James “Mac” Stewart. “Lisa is an expert in the areas that our clients deal with every day when running their business. She can guide health care clients through the increasingly complex system of regulation that governs how they do business. She will be a tremendous asset to our clients.”

Specifically, her healthcare experience includes:

Representation of hospitals, physicians and long term care providers in fraud and abuse counseling, operational and regulatory matters, HIPAA privacy, physician recruitment, ethics, contracting, confidentiality, compliance, credentialing, licensure, and peer review matters.
Structuring and implementing provider owned business models to comply with regulatory limitations.
Government reimbursement and managed care contracting issues.
Ms. Sooter received her B.B.A. with honors from the University of Texas in 1984, and her J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law in 1987. Formerly, Ms. Sooter was Of Counsel at the Dallas office of Haynes & Boone. She is licensed to practice law in both Texas and Ohio.

“My goal is to help Stewart & Stimmel continue to develop as a national healthcare law firm,” says Sooter. “Our clients are faced with the challenge of finding a way to provide high quality patient care while navigating legal and regulatory requirements. They need to partner with legal counsel that understands their business and can help them find ways to innovate while also complying. If the issues are operational or transactional, we want our clients to know that Stewart & Stimmel can successfully handle all of their legal and operational issues.”
