June 18, 2019 / New York – Debevoise & Plimpton LLP announced today that Margaret H. Nicholls has joined the firm as Global Director of Practice Management and Marketing, based in New York.
In this newly-created position, Ms. Nicholls will guide and execute on the firm’s client development, practice and industry group management, and marketing and communications initiatives. “In establishing this role, we are integrating key functions that will further enhance our ability to serve clients,” commented Michael W. Blair, the firm’s Presiding Partner. “We are delighted to welcome Margaret to Debevoise. Her deep background in marketing, management consulting and legal services is uniquely suited to the breadth of her responsibilities in this new position.”

Reporting to the Firm’s Executive Director, Arthur Armstrong, Ms. Nicholls will oversee a team of ten practice managers, who are business specialists embedded in practice and industry groups, as well as a global team of more than 30 marketing and communications professionals.
Before joining Debevoise, Ms. Nicholls served as a Director of Business Development at a leading international law firm and, prior to that, practiced as a capital markets attorney at the same firm. Earlier in her career, Ms. Nicholls was a management consultant with both Booz Allen Hamilton and PwC Consulting. Ms. Nicholls received her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and her B.S. in Economics, cum laude, from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
