Defense Attorney Michael L. Mallow Joins the Los Angeles Office
Los Angeles, February 15, 2006 –LAWFUEL – The Law News Network – Loeb & Loeb announced today that class action defense litigator Michael L. Mallow has joined the firm’s Los Angeles office as a partner.
Mr. Mallow, who was recognized in 2005 as one of California’s top 20 lawyers under 40 years old by the Los Angeles Daily Journal, leaves the Los Angeles office of Kirkpatrick & Lockhart Nicholson Graham, where he created and chaired the firm’s national California Unfair Competition Law practice group.

Mr. Mallow adds a substantial consumer class action defense practice to Loeb & Loeb’s litigation group. With his experience defending marketing and advertising cases prosecuted by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and other government agencies, Mr. Mallow will also work closely with the firm’s Advertising and Promotions Practice Group.
Mr. Mallow is known for handling difficult trial court cases. He defended the FTC’s first prosecution under the National “Do Not Call” Registry. Most recently, Mr. Mallow tried a dietary supplement marketing case against the FTC that ended with a favorable settlement for his client. He has also tried cases on behalf of an asbestos company and telemarketers sued under the Federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

Defending a consumer electronics manufacturer/distributor who was sued in a putative class under California’s Unfair Competition Law
Defending numerous telemarketing companies sued in putative class actions alleging violations of the Federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act
From 1991 to 1992, Mr. Mallow served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Steffen W. Graae, Associate Judge of the District of Columbia Superior Court. From 1992 to 1993, he served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Rufus King, III, currently Chief Judge of the District of Columbia Superior Court. Mr. Mallow began his private practice in 1993, by litigating asbestos, product liability and commercial real estate cases. In 1995, Mr. Mallow authored Civil Practice in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, a 900-page practice manual published by the Bar Association of the District of Columbia. In 1998 he moved to Los Angeles.
In 2004, Mr. Mallow was identified as a Southern California Super Lawyer “Rising Star” by Law & Politics and Los Angeles magazines. In 2005 and 2006, he was recognized as a Southern California Super Lawyer by the same publications. He is a recipient of the President’s Volunteer Service Award from the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation. He sits on the Board of Directors of Inside Out Community Arts and is a graduate of the Riordan Volunteer Leadership Development Program.
Mr. Mallow earned his J.D., with Honors, at the George Washington University School of Law in 1991, where he was an Associate Editor of The George Washington Journal of Law and Economics. He received his B.A. at the State University of New York at Binghamton in 1988.
Mr. Mallow is licensed to practice law in California, Maryland, New Jersey and the District of Columbia.
