Duck’s Substantial Background Executing Transactions in China and Japan
Will Enhance Firm’s Inbound and Outbound Work

As a member of the firm’s International and Transaction & Securities Practices and Automotive and Life Sciences Industry Teams, he will focus his practice on corporate business in the Asian marketplace.

Duck joins Foley from Butzel Long where he served as senior attorney with extensive work in establishing operations and structuring investments, joint ventures and mergers & acquisitions in China. Earlier in his career, he spent 18 months in Shanghai counseling clients while studying Chinese at East China University of Politics and Law. Duck has worked with clients doing business in Japan, as well as Japanese companies making direct investments in Asia. He has also counseled U.S. companies on private equity financing and intellectual property licensing.

Duck received a B.A. degree from the University of Vermont and a J.D. from Fordham University of Law. He is fluent in both Mandarin Chinese and Japanese.
