LAWFUEL – The Legal Newswire – A 35-year-old convicted sex offender wanted for allegedly assaulting a 5-year-old New Hampshire boy soon after his release from prison in 1999 is the latest addition to our Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list.
Jon Savarino Schillaci was released from a Texas prison in 1999 after serving a sentence for sexually assaulting two 11-year-old boys. From Texas he traveled to Boston, where he was taken in by a Deerfield, New Hampshire, couple with whom he’d frequently corresponded while in prison. They opened their home to give him a new start. Within months, however, Schillaci allegedly assaulted the couple’s 5-year-old son.
Schillaci was indicted on sexual assault charges on November 4, 1999 and a bench warrant for his arrest was issued a month later for failing to appear in court. The Boston office of the FBI also issued a warrant for his arrest. In 2000, Schillaci was also charged with 23 counts of child porn possession.
Schillaci stands 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs about 180 pounds. He has brown eyes and brown hair. Well educated, the former computer specialist is believed to hold master’s degrees in humanities and literature, and is known to speak Spanish, French, and German. His aliases include Jon Willis, Christopher Keegan, and Cody Keegan. Schillaci has ties to Texas, New Hampshire and Baja California, Mexico.
Schillaci fills a vacancy on the Top Ten that followed the arrest in May of Richard Goldberg, who was wanted in connection with various crimes against children in 2001. The FBI is offering a reward up to $100,000 for information leading directly to the arrest of Schillaci.
