Wang has been elected President of the Missouri Asian-American Bar Association (MAABA), which orchestrates professional support activities, offers professional mentoring, and provides diversity role models for its growing membership and supporters in its mission to enrich Missouri’s legal community.
Founded in 2001, MAABA (http://maaba-law.org) also publishes a newsletter, hosts monthly dinners and organizes social activities that enables interested people to meet, network and interact with other minority bar association members.
MAABA is an activity partner with the Mound City Bar Association, Lawyers for Equality, the Women Lawyers’ Association of St. Louis, the Hispanic Bar Association of St. Louis, the Asian American Chamber of Commerce of St. Louis, the Young Asian-American Professionals Association and OCA, a national organization dedicated to advancing the social, political, and economic well-being of Asian Pacific Americans. In addition, MAABA is an affiliate of the national Asian Pacific American Bar Association, which represents more than 45,000 attorneys in 47 local Asian Pacific bar associations.
Mr. Wang is an associate in Gallop’s Labor & Employment Law Department who focuses his practice in areas that include Defense of Discrimination Claims; Non-Competition, Non-Solicitation and Confidentiality Agreements; ERISA Claims; Civil Litigation and related labor and employment legal matters. He is conversational in Mandarin, proficient in French and speaks basic Spanish. As an attorney, Mr. Wang is very involved with Asian American business communities in addition to MAABA and other international and minority professional communities in Missouri and Illinois. He is Vice Chairman of the Asian American Chamber of Commerce (AACC) of St. Louis (http://aaccstl.org), and founder of Sua Sponte, a legal clinic dedicated to serving the legal needs of local immigrants, in partnership with the International Institute of St. Louis.
He is admitted to practice in the Missouri and U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Missouri and Western District of Missouri; the Illinois and U.S. District Court, Southern District of Illinois; and the U.S. Court of Appeals, 8th Circuit.
