Katy Perry’s Lawyers Bite Over Sharks

Katy Perry’s lawyers, Greeberg Traurig have bitten over her “Left Shark” dancing image seen in the Super Bowl act from the pop sensation, requesting a 3-D print sculpture sold online be taken offline – Now!

The dancing shark became a phenomenon and inevitably spawned those seeking to politicize or monetize the shark.

Not if Greenberg Traurig has its way.  When Fernando Sosa created a Left Figure shark and put it online for $24.99 he got the shark-bite from Katy’s lawyers.

“Our client [Perry] recently has learned that you have been involved in the manufacture, sale, marketing and distribution of merchandise featuring a shark sculpture which embodies and uses the [Super Bowl halftime show], and that you have displayed this product on your website, in connection with such sale and distribution,” the letter read.

The  Greenberg Traurig letter demanded that Shapeways.com, the website where Sosa sells his sculptures, cease and desist selling the product, and that he turn over any products he had in his possession.
