Kilpatrick Stockton LLP announced today that Partner Peter Glass was named by Legal Media Group to its prestigious 2004 Guide to the World’s Leading Real Estate Lawyers. Joining Mr. Glass in this prestigious ranking is Johan Gustavsson of the firm’s Sweden office.
This “Expert Guide” is a leading international listing of preeminent practitioners in specific areas of law. Legal Media Group’s research department conducted a year-long, in-depth study of experts in the field of real estate law to determine who should be included in the Guide. In-house counsel and practitioners were asked to nominate the world’s most capable practitioners in the real estate arena.
“It is an absolute honor to have Pete acknowledged in such a well-respected guide to the world’s pre-eminent real estate lawyers,” said Bill Brewster, Kilpatrick Stockton’s Managing Partner. “Given the rigorous selection process implemented to identify these individuals, we are confident Pete and Johan are truly leaders in their field.”
Mr. Glass regularly represents domestic and international institutional investors, REITs and financial institutions in the acquisition, development, rehabilitation, financing, operating and disposition of office, industrial, retail and mixed-use projects throughout the southeastern US.
In his career of more than 33 years, Mr. Glass has been retained as counsel for the investor, the developer, or the lender in almost every type of real estate transaction, from the acquisition of timberland to the development of regional retail shopping malls and major multi-use urban projects. Of late, a major focus of Mr. Glass’ practice is representation of secured lenders and servicers in the modification and restructuring of securitized loans and in the exercise of remedial action with respect to defaulted real estate loans.
Mr. Glass is listed in An International Who’s Who of Real Estate Lawyers and was named to the list of Georgia Super Lawyers in 2004 and 2005. Mr. Glass has lectured and written extensively on a variety of topics relating to commercial real estate development, finance and workouts. Mr. Glass graduated from Northwestern University in 1968 and from the University of Georgia School of Law, with honors, in 1971.
