Kim Dotcom in Otago Law Student Election Candidacy

It may seem strange that Megaupload boss Kim Dotcom, facing extradition charges from the US for allegations of copyright infringement, should have his image appearing in an election for a university law faculty position, but that is the case it would appear. The appearance of Dotcom, along with New Zealand olympic champion Valerie Adams and Jamaica’s Usain Bolt have appeared to support the candidacy for vice president of Otago’s SOULs election to be held next week. The candidate, Edward Bowie, is making no comment. However his is the position evidently favoured by his celebrity endorsees.

He’s a big man, he’s in big trouble and he’s facing big fees from the lawyers in the small country where Megaupload founder Kim Dotcom has been sequestered while fighting the US authorities wanting to extradict him to the US on copyright, money laundering and racketeering charges. Problem for the US is things aren’t going too well.
