Exelon Corporation to be Honored with a Corporate Leadership Award

Lawyer of 2006
CHICAGO, Aug. 15 /PRNewswire/ — U.S. Senator Russ Feingold will give
the keynote address at the annual meeting of the Chicago Lawyers’ Committee
on Monday, August 28, 2006, which begins at 11:30am, and will be held at
the Palmer House Hilton Hotel, Chicago, Illinois. Senator Feingold, best
known for leading the fight for campaign finance reform with Senator John
McCain, is also the leading voice for protecting privacy and personal
freedom, having cast the Senate’s lone vote against the USA PATRIOT Act.
The Chicago Lawyers’ Committee will recognize the lawyers from Kirkland
& Ellis LLP and Schiff Hardin LLP, along with plaintiffs from the
Afro-American Patrolman’s League, on the 30th Anniversary of their role in
landmark litigation challenging racial discrimination in hiring and
promotion by the Chicago Police Department.
William A. Von Hoene Jr., Senior Vice President and General Counsel of
Exelon Corporation, will accept the Corporate Leadership Award. Exelon is
being honored for its pro bono policies as well as for its model AAA
Adam Oyebanji, an associate at Eimer Stahl Klevorn & Solberg LLP will
be honored as the Outstanding Young Lawyer of 2006 in recognition of his
exemplary contribution to the Chicago Lawyers’ Committee’s Employment
Opportunity Project. Mr. Oyebanji’s clients, multiple low-wage workers he
represented in EEOC mediations with extraordinarily good results,
consistently comment on his careful preparation, determined negotiations,
and respectful attitude.
