LAWFUEL – Press Release Service – DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary (“DLA Piper”) is pleased to announce that Phillips Fox is the latest law firm to join its exclusive alliance, DLA Piper Group. The alliance agreement is the first of its kind between a global law firm and a major Australasian law firm and will provide both DLA Piper and Phillips Fox with a platform from which to extend the range of services offered to their respective clients.
Phillips Fox, which officially becomes a member of the alliance later this year when it will also rebrand as DLA Phillips Fox, is one of the largest law firms in Australasia. The firm provides a wide range of legal services from its offices in Australia and New Zealand and has over 160 partners and 1,400 staff. It is also particularly well regarded for its IP, insurance litigation and real estate work.
DLA Piper and Phillips Fox have worked closely together for a number of years, however, formalising the relationship supports the strategic direction of both firms. It provides DLA Piper with greater visibility in the Australasian market and will enhance its ability to support clients’ international needs. The alliance will also be of particular benefit to DLA Piper’s Asian and Middle East offices. Through the alliance Phillips Fox will be able to respond to the demand for more international services from its client base.
Tony Crawford, Phillips Fox Chief Executive commented: “The creation of DLA Phillips Fox is our recognition of the rapid integration of Australian and New Zealand business into the world economy and it fits the long-term strategic intent of both firms.
“Phillips Fox is now ideally positioned to meet our clients’ needs locally, regionally, nationally and globally.”
DLA Piper Joint CEO, Nigel Knowles said: “Our alliance with Phillips Fox is based in a desire to provide a consistent and coordinated range of services which meet clients’ international needs. It is also built on a relationship that has developed over the past five years, one that has advanced as a result of our common values, cultures and aspirations. We also share another common goal – to be market leaders in our approach to clients relationship management.”
