LAWFUEL – Press Release Service – Nadia Burgard has joined the firm’s New York City office as a partner with its lending and restructuring practice, a multidisciplinary group of more than 75 lawyers devoted to serving the capital markets transactional needs of its growing financial services industry client base.

Burgard has extensive experience in financing and restructuring transactions, including leveraged acquisitions, asset-based financings, second-lien financings, workouts, and debtor-in-possession and exit financings. She joins the firm as part of its commitment to strengthen Hunton & Williams’ lending and restructuring practice New York.

“Nadia’s depth of experience representing agent banks in the structuring and documentation of large credits, and particularly in connection with the restructuring of complex troubled loans, is well known to financial institutions, including our clients, both in New York and in other significant markets,” said Bruce Moorhead, who heads the firm’s lending services practice in New York. “She is a wonderful addition to our expanding lending services practice.”

Burgard, who joins Hunton & Williams from O’Melveny & Myers LLP, where she was a partner. She holds an undergraduate degree from Wesleyan University and a law degree from Fordham Law School.

The New York office of Hunton & Williams was established in 1984 and is home to more than 70 lawyers. The firm’s practice in New York emphasizes structured finance, mergers and acquisitions, private equity and capital markets work for public companies, including financial institutions and energy companies, privacy and information management counseling and litigation, insurance and reinsurance matters, environmental and energy regulatory matters, intellectual property matters, with particular emphasis on the pharmaceutical industry, large class action defense work, syndicated lending, loan restructurings, work-out and bankruptcy representation, and unfair competition issues.
