Lawfuel – The Law Newswire – NEW YORK, May 9, 2007 – McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP announced the addition of “Trip” Dorkey III to the firm’s New York office as a partner in the Litigation Department. He joins from Torys LLP where he was a partner and Chair of the United States Litigation Department.

Dorkey has litigated a broad range of significant and complex business cases involving securities, reinsurance, construction, real estate, employment, and merger and acquisition activities. Recently, his practice has involved disputes over financial sector acquisitions, tax shelter transactions, distributions from failed hedge funds and insurance coverage.

“We are very excited to have Trip as the lead New York lawyer in our nationwide litigation practice,” said Phil Bradley, Co-Chair of McKenna Long & Aldridge’s Litigation Department. “Trip is extraordinarily talented and has a broad range of experience that complements very well our existing practices across the country.”

“Trip will be a great asset to our litigation practice in particular, and to our New York office in general,” said William Plunkett, founder of McKenna Long & Aldridge’s New York office. “His many years of litigation experience and his high profile presence in the New York legal and business communities made Trip a perfect candidate for the expansion of our New York office.”

Dorkey’s breadth of knowledge in the legal field comes from over 30 years of experience in all aspects of litigation. In addition to his client work, Trip is a member of the Executive Committee of Commercial and Federal Litigation Section of the New York State Bar Association, Chair of the Hudson River Park Trust and member of the Board of Directors of the St. Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation.

“McKenna Long & Aldridge is a growing and dynamic firm known for obtaining top notch results for its clients,” said Dorkey. “I’m thrilled to be working with an outstanding group of attorneys in New York that I already know well, and to have the larger and growing platform and resources to expand and grow the office.”
