Leading Australian law firm Middletons is about to start serving aces for Tennis Australia after being appointed as the Official Law Firm for the Australian Open for the next 2 years.
Middletons will support Tennis Australia’s existing in-house legal team by providing strategic advice in respect of its Australian Open and broader organisational operations in areas of law including:
» television and multi-media broadcasting contracts, both domestic and international
» global sponsorship deals
» licensing schemes
» supply arrangements
» taxation and stamp duty
» employment law
» commercial litigation.

Mr Rickarby also announced that as part of its Australian Open promotions, Middletons was developing an online game (http://tennischallenge.middletons.com.au/) which would allow corporate Australia to have a chance at beating the best serves from the 2005 Australian Open.
Tennis Australia is the national governing body for the sport of tennis in Australia and is responsible for helping grow and promote the sport from grassroots to elite level. Tennis Australia owns and stages the Australian Open – one of the world’s biggest annual sporting events and one of the four Grand Slams.
Australian Open 2005 attracted over half a million patrons through the gates over the fortnight of the tournament, with images of the tournament broadcast to 202 territories across the globe reaching 443 million homes.
