Leeds, London – LAWFUEL – Law News Network – DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary (“DLA Piper”) has appointed Chris Marks, leading property lawyer and until recently, National Head of Property at Hammonds, as a partner in its Leeds office. Chris will work alongside David Taylor, Global Head of Real Estate and Neil McLean, real estate partner and Managing Partner of the Leeds office, to develop DLA Piper’s public sector and regeneration offering.
Chris has over 20 years property experience and specialises in public sector, urban regeneration, property development, investments and grant and funding agreements. Working from both Leeds and London Chris has established an outstanding reputation in the market and has been involved in several major infrastructure projects, such as the funding for the Emirates Stadium in Islington, the new home of Arsenal Football Club and advising Sheffield City Council on the redevelopment of Park Hill flats, the largest listed building in the UK. He also has oil and gas sector expertise, advising clients on exploration development agreements and gas pipeline leases and easements.
The appointment of Chris Marks is a significant boost for DLA Piper’s national and Yorkshire-based real estate practices, which are committed to building on their existing public sector and regeneration capabilities. Chris, who has spent the past 18 years at Hammonds, has significant experience in this area and will develop DLA Piper’s public sector offering as part of the firm’s respected national real estate practice group.
