London, 19 June 2006 – LAWFUEL – Press Release Service – Shearman & Sterling (London) LLP is advising Nokia Corporation in connection with the merger of Nokia and Siemens’
communications service provider businesses.
The combined turnover of the two businesses in 2005 was €15.8 billion and the merged business is expected to start operations with 60,000 employees.
Subject to regulatory approvals, works council consultation and agreement of detailed implementation steps, the transaction is expected to close before 1 January 2007.
