London, 20 July 2004 – LAWFUEL – See PRESS RELEASES for all today’s law announcements: DLA LLP announced today that it would expand its contentious reinsurance/insurance team with the appointment of a new partner from Eversheds. David Murphy will join DLA from Eversheds, London office later this year, working alongside Charles Gordon and Neil Ellis who head up the firm’s Insurance Risk Solutions (IRS) team.
David has a broad range of clients including Eagle Star, Terra Nova and Royal & Sun Alliance and in recent years has developed an impressive London-based and Latin American practice. David’s experience will complement the existing team, which concentrates on the London market, international dispute resolution for Lloyd’s, and the company run-off markets.
Commenting on this appointment, partner Charles Gordon said:
“David’s arrival is significant as it will enable us to strengthen the practice at a senior level. The IRS team are at the leading edge of developments in the market having created the first bespoke solvent insurance scheme of arrangement in London and the first London solvent insurance scheme of arrangement to be entirely operated by a run-off service provider. David’s arrival will enable DLA to expand the London practice and explore development opportunities in South America alongside our Madrid office.”
