—Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP announced today that Peter Sternberg has joined its New York office as a partner in the firm’s corporate practice group. Sternberg is a former partner at Jones Day.
Sternberg will continue to focus his practice on international transactions. He has significant experience in U.S./European cross-border mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures. Commenting on Sternberg’s arrival, Ralph Baxter, Orrick’s chairman and CEO, said, “Peter’s broad-based corporate practice and international focus is a great strategic fit for Orrick as we continue to expand our European presence.” Orrick currently has approximately 100 lawyers in Europe, with offices in Paris, London, Rome and Milan.
“We couldn’t be happier that Peter is joining our team,” added Steve Graham, who chairs Orrick’s 120-lawyer corporate practice. “Peter’s arrival strengthens Orrick’s European practice while simultaneously advancing the corporate group’s objective to expand its M&A capabilities in New York. The result is enhanced service to both our U.S. and European clients.”
Commenting on his move to Orrick, Sternberg said, “Orrick is an outstanding firm with a strong New York office and an expanding European platform well suited to my practice. The Orrick culture was especially appealing, and I’m going to enjoy working with the Orrick team.”
