NEW YORK, NY (November 17, 2005) — LAWFUEL – The Law News Network – McDermott Will & Emery is further enhancing its 175+ lawyer Intellectual Property, Media & Technology Department with the addition of a New York-based intellectual property litigation group, led by Dennis Mondolino. Mr. Mondolino and his group, including five partners, one counsel and twelve associates and paraprofessionals, will add significantly to the Firm’s intellectual property litigation practice.

As head of the group, Mr. Mondolino was formerly a named partner at the New York IP boutique, Hopgood, Calimafde, Judlowe and Mondolino, and most recently practiced at Morgan Lewis. The partners in the group include Lisa Ferri, Michael Hurley, Jason Lief and Richard Pettus. This group brings to McDermott an integrated team that has successfully litigated scores of patent and other IP disputes in a wide array of technologies and industries including pharmaceutical, chemical, biotechnology, computer, electronics, and consumer and industrial products.

“With this addition in New York we now have a formidable IP litigation presence in each of our eight U.S. offices, in addition to our European offices,” commented Ray Lupo, head of the Firm’s Intellectual Property, Media & Technology Department. “Dennis and his group will be especially effective in advancing our pharmaceutical focus as part of our expanding life sciences IP practice.”

Mr. Mondolino focuses primarily on patent and complex trade secret litigation, including substantial experience in pharmaceutical Hatch-Waxman litigations. He is an experienced trial and appellate lawyer with more than 20 years of experience, who has participated in more than 100 patent disputes and has acted as lead trial counsel in approximately two dozen patent-related cases with a commensurate number of arguments before the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals.
