Last week, Dennemeyer & Company hosted its 2004 DIAMS User Group Conference at the Sofitel Chicago O’Hare Hotel. The annual event provided a forum for users to learn about and discuss the latest Dennemeyer developments.

The two and a half day event featured a Dennemeyer welcome reception and dinner, presentations of the latest Dennemeyer news and events, and a program of breakout sessions for both corporate and law firm users. Dennemeyer also provided users an introduction to its recently released web-based system, DIAMS-XE. The conference and all topics were tailored to meet the users’ needs based on a survey that was distributed to the users during the Conference’s planning.

The Conference also served as the inaugural meeting for Dennemeyer’s new Corporate Advisory Board. The CAB was created by Dennemeyer to provide a unique, highly collaborative vehicle for users to participate in Dennemeyer’s product development process. Dennemeyer also announced its new web log, In The Denn, which will provide a collaborative user community and enable DIAMS user to share information and best practices. This web log will be offered exclusively to Dennemeyer clients and will be launched by the end of October.

Lani Dick, an IAM professional for Polaris Industries Inc. and a new DIAMS-XE user, enjoyed the networking opportunities of the User Conference. When asked what drew her to the DIAMS-XE system, she replies, “The whole web based system is what drew me to DIAMS-XE… all the asset management tools are in one system – all the way from the idea to the patent to the financial and budgeting.”

In commenting on the DIAMS system, Robyn Hess of Townsend and Townsend and Crew said, “the organizational capabilities [of DIAMS] are beyond compare. She describes the quick access and the user-friendly attitude of the program as “a real plus in our workplace.” When comparing her experiences with other IAM systems, she recalls them as, “long generations of boring and mono-chromatic programs.” She continues, “Dennemeyer offers quick access, fun and fast accumulation of data and automatically generated due dates. I think that Dennemeyer is great for high volume offices.”
